Notes
This is a "folded" stereo experience. I recorded 18 minutes of material, cut it in half and layered the last half over the first half. Then, I pushed the first half to the left channel and the second half to the right creating an ersatz stereo recording from a mono recording.
Enjoy!

This clip, over 6 minutes long, is perfect for background/nat sound to set the mood or location for spoken dialogue, music, or both. A little disconcerting, though, is the way the stereo was created. While interesting (and useful as occasional s/fx), on steady playback it soon becomes very apparent that the left and right channel are completely isolated from each other. (Since the description states that's indeed the case, it's not unexpected, but just sounds a bit unnatural.)
That's not automatically a Bad Thing, but the end of the clip is very "jagged" with one channel ending about 12 seconds or so before the other. There's also a slight hum that probably wouldn't be a problem if this were used as background audio, but it's definitely noticeable when you listen on decent speakers.
Hey, nobody's perfect, but I'm going to try to clean it up and reupload it. If I do everything right, it should be available as State Fair II in a little while. :)

This is a recording of the livestock tent at the 100th anniversary of the Florida State Fair, slightly tweaked from the original. It's stereo and good for background audio to set the mood or location for spoken dialogue, music, or both.

Notes
This clip was originally created by
archive.org member Santo DiPiazza as "State Fair". I tried to add value to it in this way: I remixed the audio (originally two separate mono tracks) to approximate actual stereo, overlapping the channels by about 35% each. I then did a little "housekeeping" -- I trimmed the end so that both channels end at the same time, added a smooth fade at the beginning and end, normalized the level, and tried (with only minor improvement) to equalize out a slight hum.
This is the result -- a more tightly compacted file, yet faithful to the source file's quality. Hopefully this will be of use to folks without the chance to do these things to the file. (Tweaked using Acoustica by Aconas Digital.) A tip of the hat to Santo for giving me something to play with. :)
